Leadership Summit #6

Interviews with successful business people.
Blake Mycoskie (founder and chief shoe giver of TOMS shoes)

This company gives away one pair of shoes for each pair that is purchased.
So far he has sold over 600,000
He lives on a sailboat in LA.

When you are an employee for two years, the company pays for you to go on one of the giveaway trip.
Not every company can have a one to one correspondence, but you can incorporate giving into your culture.

All we have to do at TOMS is focus on giving...and then our customers will do the marketing for us.

Jack Welsh former ceo of General Electric

Insecure people hire dopes and they don't get any better.
The biggest dirty little secret in business is the lack of candor. -True in business, 100X as true in church.
They don’t want to listen to you preach at them.. they want to share in each other’s experiences

Top people
are filled with energy
they are likable
they celebrate when they see people grow.. (insecure people hide them and envy them)

Talking about the baton-pass
He started planning 8 years before he retired.. and he had 22 candidates.

20 70 10 (top 20, middle 70, bottom 10)
differentiation

some people spend too much time on the bottom ten..he says get rid of them

the bottom 10 has
low energy
not a team player
acidic (pain in the ass)
negative, disrupt, antagonize
the hallway whisperer is more dangerous than the loud disagreer

Do everything you can to stop the meeting after the meeting.
why don't you bring it up there
argument..who are you to tell me that I am in the bottom 10 (I don't know.. but I don't know a better way)
No winning teams ignore performance.
Non-profit should not mean non-performance.

Leadership Summit #5

Interview with Terri Kelly President and CEO of Gore and Associates
Interview with Daniel Pink author of Drive and white house speechwriter.

Terri Kelly
Ladder vs Lattice organizations

We all want to connect with each other..every one is interconected not one rung above the other.
Ownership comes when leaders don't tell others what to do and when all are equally committed.

"We vote with our feet. If you call a meeting and people show up, you're a leader." Rick Buckingham of Gore

Team members vote on who is making the greatest contribution to the team.
After the vote, they plot compensation. The leaders making the most are the ones voted the highest on the scale.

The company has more coaches than bosses.

They keep their plants at 250 people per site. There is more engagement and ownership in smaller plants. When you have ofver a thousand it doesn't have personality and ownership.
They try to keep between 100 and 150 associates at each site with no more than 250.

Waterline principle
If you are going to consider an action/decision that will put the company at risk.. drill holes only above the waterline.. and drill as many as you want above but not below.

You are olny a leader if people want to follow you. and they have not arrived they have to continue to gain followership over time.
One of the responsibilities of leaders is to figure out how we can divide so that we can multiply
Coach others without placing yourself as a necessary piece of their growth.
Gore Values: 1) Belief in individuals 2) Power of small teams 3) We're all in the same boat 4) take the long-term view.
To be innovative you have to create an environment of collaboration.

Daniel Pink
People have three drives.

People have biological drives.
They also have reward and punishment drive.
People do things because they are interesting, and they want to do it, and want to be part of something larger then themselves.

A larger reward led to worse performance. What?!?
If then rewards work well for simple tasks ..eliminate distractions and get the job done.
They don't work well for complicated creative tasks...
It then rewards give you tunnel vision
carrots and sticks leading us down the wrong path

A problem in organizations is that we make the wrong assumptions about each other.
1. Human beings are machines (semi-sophicated robots) Not true!
2. Human beings are blobs. (if i don't threaten or encourage these people with carrots and sticks they will do nothing)
find a two year old who is passive and inert..the default setting is to be active and engaged...but our essence as human

What does work for complicated creative tasks to get enduring motivation.
1. Autonomy
2. Mastery
3. Purpose

Autonomy
is an enduring motivator.
Management is a technology from the 1850's. It is a technology designed to get compliance. But we don't want compliance we want engagement. Management leads to compliance but self-direction leads to engagement.
Autonomy over their time, team, task and technique leads to engagement.
Spend 20 percent of the time working on anything they want. (scaffold this...start small..training wheels)

Mastery
People love to get better at things. And this is underused in most organizations.
Making progress is the single best motivator. getting better..contributing more..
managers should help people see their progress.. and it's free
Flow.. delicious moments in our life when the challenge is so right for us that we lose ourself in time
To achieve mastery, you must get feedback and the workplace is the place where you usually get the least.
Yearly performance reviews don't do this.. do it to yourself...make goals and check up on them monthly
We are seeing the limits of the profit motive.

Purpose
When profit is above purpose bad things happen.. bad morally and less innovative...
Instead of telling the non-profits to act like a business tell the business to act like a non-profit.
Diagnostic tool....listen for pronouns.. we or they....big correlation between we and high performance

How do you change..
Every good change begins with a conversation.every social movement and every romance.
Thanks for changing the world!

Leadership Summit #4

Interviews and session with Adam Hamilton

1. Tony Dungy Interview/ winning coach of the 2007 super bowl.
Stubbornness is a virtue when you're right.

The importance of being a mentoring leader, mentors don't have to be icons and can make a big difference at any level.

The informal time in a mentor relationship is more important than the formal time.

Don't mistake work hours for productivity.. football and winning is not the most important thing.

A 30 second conversation w/ your mentor can change your life.

2. Wes Stafford Compassion Interview
The church is God's plan A for reaching the world - God has no plan B - Compassion International
Churches in a resourced country build a relationship with churches in a non-resourced country

It is in giving that you receive.

Session with Adam Hamilton
When Leaders Fall

None of Us are immune to temptation.

We need to reach out to our failing leaders as we do to broken people outside of the church.
When leaders fail: Don't throw stones. Pray for families. Be prepared to manage w/grace, openness & transparency.
The church exists for broken people.
There is sin and consequences and there is also grace because our God is the God of the gospel.

Why are leaders susceptible to affairs.
His church has policies around misconduct ..sex and relationships.
guard against them and all that...

Leadership Summit #3

Leading on the Edge of Hope
Christine Caine from Hillsong Church

Leader of organization...Abolishing Injsutice in the 21st century
she fights against global trafficing of women and children..and rehabilitions of victims

"If all this is true, why didn't you come sooner?" question from a women sold into the sex trade after asking why you came and being told about a loving God.

She was abused, marginalized and hopeless.
Instead of becoming abused, addicted, etc.. she is now helping the world to end trafficing and injustice.
She fits every category for victim and government help and Jesus helped her rise above it.

Got to www.thea21campaign.org and check it out!

Jesus Christ is still in the business of fixing broken lives and if he did it for me he can do it for anyone!

27 million slaves in the world today.. don't let it overwhelm you... not a number

Illuminate the dark with the light of the world!
Greater is He that is in me then He that is in the world.
It does not take much light to illuminate the darkness, it just takes courage.
Don't lose hope!

Not obligated.. don't lose a passion for the love of Jesus and his ability to change lives.

Jesus is an anchor for our soul.
He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. Phil 1:6

Leadership Summit #2

Jim Collins
"How the Mighty Fall"

5 Stages of Decline

1. Hubris Born of Success (we can do whatever because we are really good..)
It's not success that leads to arrogance but outrageous arrogance and neglect.
Arrogance to believe that since our desire is good and noble, our decisions must be good and noble as well.
Leadership is not about you.
Great leaders never give up.
You can look great on the outside and be sick on the inside.
Humility separates good leaders from great leaders.

2. Undisciplined Pursuit of More
If you allow growth to to superceed the ability to have a team with all four C's in all the key places, you will fail.
Fill all your leadership seats with fantastic people.

3. Denial of Risk and Peril
look to the facts. Don't deny the danger and risks ahead.

4. Grasping for Salvation
a new big CEO or outside savior
something new or big to pull you out of the struggle
it's not one big push.. it's cumulative momentum..it does not happen overnight
Disciplined people engaged in disciplined thought taking disciplined actions = steady progress over time. - Jim Collins

5. Capitulation to Irrevelance or Death
lost person, cultural, and actual capital..you are done, toast, gone

You can come back from late stage 4, but in 5 you are done.

Ask the question. What would happen if we disappeared? Would there be a gaping hole in our community?

Preserve something core and stimulate progress.. not one or the other. AND not OR

1. Do your diagnostics.. good to great diagnostic tool free at Jim Collins.com
2. Count your blessings. (literally, in a spreadsheet) (all the success you did not cause is humbling)
3. What is your question to statement ration and try to double it.
"You spend way to much time being interesting, how
4. How many key seats do you have on your bus, how many are fantastic? How are you going to get there?
5. Diagnostic.. of team on the way up or down
6. With your fantastic team decide what are the brutal facts? be brutally honest
7. Not just a to do list a stop doing list. Very important to talk about what to stop.
8. Define results focus on benchmarks.. show concrete great results
9. Double your reach to young people by changing your practices without changing your core values
10. Create a Big Hairy Audacious Goal. BHAG

If you truly set out to be useful never capitulate, never give in never, never, never.

Leadership Summit #1

Bill Hybels

Leaders move people from here to there.

Here____________________________There

The first step is not making "there" sound great, it making "here" sound awful!
First explain why not to just stay where you are.
Then create a vision for a better future
"If we don't move the ministries, we will never expand.

Martin Luther King gave hundreds of "We can't stay here speeches" then he gave the "I have a dream" speech.

It takes fantastic people.
One of the greatest joys in leadership is the assembling of fantastic teams of people.
Here are four C's for a staff team.
Character
Competence
Chemistry
Culture
A good test is the vomit test.
If you think of someone leaving, and it makes you want to vomit..that is a great team member!

Mile Markers and Celebrations
Where on the journey are people most vulnerable...in the middle
They forget how bad "Here" is and they can't see how great "There" is.
Re-fill the vision bucket more regularly than you think; Every person's vision bucket leaks.
What keeps people on the journey is a sense of hope that they will get there someday.
There is 40% more productivity from a team member who is inspired than from one who is not.
Celebrate small victories on the way to the destination.

Whispers from God
God still speaks today!
Listen to him!
Check your antennae so you don't miss what God has to say to you! Lower the ambient noise in your life.
Figure out what God wants done, then assemble a team of people to get there!

Some of God's Possible Whispers to You....
Don't Quit.
Step Up.
Take the Risk.
Apologize Now.
Make the Tough Decision.
Get Help.
Stop Running From God.
Slow Down.
Show Your Heart.
Let Others Lead.
Feed Your Soul.
Bless the Team.
Make the Ask.
Do Something More Impactful.
Come Clean.
Embody the Vision.
Speak the Truth.
Pay the Price.
End the Secret.
Pray.
..........and so on.

Say, speak Lord your servant is listening.

After God's Own Heart

if you could pick a phrase.. what would you want people to remember about you to define your life..

Here's Joe's pick
But I have found this one, who is a man after my own heart. (like David)
Here's what David knows..
1. God's word is true!
2. The Lord is great, gracious, merciful, sustaining, satisfying, saving, near, hearing
3. David loves the presence of the Lord in his live Psalm 27
4. David does the right things (for the most part anyway)
5. When David sins, he responds correctly//repentance//"A broken and contrite heart, you will not despise" Psalm 1:17

Question:
What steps are you taking to deepen your knowledge of God these days?
How intense is your persuit of him?
What changes could you make in your schedule or your priorities to deepen your knowledge of His word?
How are you doing on your first love? What's really in your heart?

if you say..nobody would know, but there's some things in my life that shouldn't be going on....
The time to deal with sin is when you first pick up the baby rattle snake
"He gave them over to the stubborness of their hearts" scariest verse in the Bible... please Lord don't let it get to that...

Question
1. Where is my heart?
2. Where does it need the most attention?
-knowing his word?
- loving his presence?
- walking in integrity?
- responding in humility?

"And David accomplished God's purposes for his generation, and then he died" Acts 13:36
That wouldn't be so bad.. would it...
That is Joe's prayer.. is it yours?

Guitar in Worship

Adam Young

This session is led by a smokin' guitar player/instructor from Boca Raton

He's talking about the chromatic scale, and explaining bar chords and how to use one finger positioning and move up and down the fret making multiple different chords.
He explains the importance of using the scales to create lead parts.
He shows some great 1,3,2,4 finger agility exercises to practice and warm up before playing.
Now he's saying some interesting but complicated things i don't understand about playing lead guitar...

My job as a lead guitar player in a praise band is to be a rottweiler....
I am going to stand by the singer, make sure everyone heard the lyrics and then growl a little...
know when to play and when not to play...when to play, when to growl, and when to protect your master...

Playing with a Band in Worship

Brant Fuller, Mclane church worship director, talks about playing with a band in one of the refocus breakout sessions.

Technical side….
1. Always tune… always always… simple but vitally important.
2. Be an instrumentalist with one eye open. Keep your eye on the worship leader; listen to each other.
3. Practice with a click track! At least start on the right tempo!
4. Decide which instrument is the lead instrument on each song.
5. Challenge yourself to read music, and to learn how to read music. Brant prefers actual charts to chord charts, to show the specifics of how many bars are where…etc. (We have argued about this before.heheh)
6. Expand your musical style…(If you always listen to Hillsong, pull out some Isreal Houton) ect…

Personal side….
1 .Band members should be engaged in worship when they are not on a specific part , and while playing.
2. Must prepare themselves personally for worship.
3. Music is important, but if the heart stuff isn’t there..it’s worthless

Demo
The band played some examples of layering...dynamics..etc
He used the percent rule.. (for example, if there are four musicians; each play at 25% to make 100%)
The guitar player who flew in from Boca Raton in Florida (forgot his name) is smokin'..and you should be jealous that you are not listening to him right now)

Best source for charts..
Praise charts.com
They have charts for different versions of each songs...

I just found out that Brant has played trumpet for 7 years. (strange new fact)

Building Unity on Your Worship Team

Joe Horness Session One

Find the right people.

1. Make sure they are genuinely gifted. (people have a tremendous capacity for self deception in the area of their talents)
- (think American Idol contestants, for instance)
- Understanding spiritual gifts.. help people find areas in which they are gifted
2. Are your musicians/vocalists Spiritually Authentic?
- Do they mean what they are singing?
3. Are they emotionally Mature?
- Value community as much as talent
- Me monsters and primadonnas are toxic to a team!

Right values for a team!

1. Who Am I?
- I Chronicles 17-28 Who am I that Thou hast brought me this far? Watch for the feeling, why are they getting the solo, I would do that so much better.. think "Who am I?" Worry about the kingdom, not yourself! Instead think, "Who am i that you would use me at ALL?

2. You 'Da Man
- Toy story quote "What if he gets another dinosaur? I don't think I can handle that kind of rejection.
- New talent is a good thing! What if God is trying to grow the ministry, more locations, or more services..
- Maybe God is bringing us more talent for a reason...
- Don't hold on to your spot... but celebrate others' successes
- Joe shared a story of how he build up and mentored a new worship leader, and the that guy was getting all the recognition.. it was rough for him...
God spoke to him "If there are successful worship leaders all around the country and noone knows your name are you ok?"
Wow! Ouch..Yes? then get over yourself...

3. He Must Increase
- John 3:30 He must increase and I must decrease!
- sometimes not being on stage is the thing you need most for him to work in you!
- God is more concerned about our character than our contribution.

4. Eyes Only
- Matthew 18:15 "Go to your brother or sister in private..."
- "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another even as i have loved you...by this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13
- should be no bickering or fighting, but an attitude of love!

Joe Horness Take 3

When I saw that my church was having Joe Horness, former worship director of Willow Creek, back to our church for the third time I thought.
"This was really exciting the first time, but three times?" I was wondering if I had anything more to learn from this guy.

After prayer and marinating on it a bit, I realized how ridiculous it is to think I have learned all I can in two weekends from a man who has been leading people in worship for over 30 years.

We had dinner last night with Joe and some area worship leaders and I was reminded of how much this man has to offer in helping us all become better worship leaders.

I'll be posting my notes on the blog as he speaks.

January 24th Church in a Bar

What? Two in one day!
Yeppers.

When I got to Church in a Bar tonight, I felt totally unprepared. I had spent so much time getting ready for the three services in the larger venue that I neglected to fully prepare for the this smaller but vitally important service.

Thankfully, Brian Lusky was there to carry the guitar parts and rehearsal leadership.

Leading four services is awesome but too much for me to take on in one weekend when I work on Monday.

How He Loves-Jesus Culture version (key of G)
All I Need Is You- Jesus Cluture version
God of this City- Aaron Boyd, etc..(key of C)/
He Hears Our Cry/What a Friend-Brian Lusky version (Key of E)
It has a great original chorus thats brings new life to the hymn.
check out this song on Itunes or click above to hear the original chorus.
You Won't Relent-Jesus Culture version (Key of E)

Random musings:
I didn't realize how much Kim Walker was in the mix when I chose this song set....
We had some rhythm problems in "All I Need" but otherwise no huge issues.
God is good, and he is worth it all, and I am exhausted and feel like i may be getting sick.
It seems as if God renewed my passion for worship leading this weekend.

Check out some more services at Fred's.

January 23rd and 24th

Wow!
I have been leading a lot lately with guitar at my church's two smaller venues, and I took almost 6 months off of leading at the large venue. We have three services at this site and the time commitment is 2-8 on Saturday and 8-1 on Sunday. When I lead I don't see hide or hair of my husband the whole weekend!

Anyone else have this kind of time trouble?

Anyway I was back in the Boro, and it was INCREDIBLE!

Here's the list

Marvelous LIght- Charlie Hall (Key of G)
How He Loves- Jesus Culture version (Key of G)
Enough-Tomlin (Key of A)

announcements/Moment of Fellowship

Nothing without You-Bebo Norman (Key of A)
Our Great God- Powell and Ortega (key of Db)
Revelation Song- Jenni Riddle (key of D)

I had an amazingly talented and humble group of musicians to work with this weekend!
Even practice was worshipful for me, and I was able to really be in the moment and allow God to use me since I was not playing guitar and concentrating.

I can't begin to tell you how sweet it was!!
The only snafu was new earbuds.. since I was last here..my foams disappeared and the new ones kept falling out! I think it's time for customs....
Back to guitar and vocals in one of the smaller venues tonight, I get to lead with my amazing guitar teacher and great friend Brian Lusky tonight so I'm confident it will be awesome as well!

gotta go practice....

Check out how church went down all over the place at Fred's!

Sunday, November 1st-Union City

Yikes, with my new job and the craziness of fall...I realize I haven't posted a worship blog since summer!

This week I led in our smaller multi-site that meets in a high school cafeteria. I recruited a sweet team of two college students and a recent high-school grad to worship with me.

Mike-keys and vox
Nicki-strings and vox
Randy-aux percussion
Me- AG and vox

Here's the set..
Revelation Song (key of D)
How He Loves (Key of G)
Offering

At the Cross (key of E)
Amazing Grace-My Chains Are Gone (Key of C)

Message on Confession
You Won't Relent (Key of C#m?)

The Downside,
To say there were technical difficulties would be a huge understatement.
No sound guy till 4 minutes before the start of service...and only because my friend Wayne made a last minute call
Popping, cracking, feedback, keys accidentally turned up to the loudest possible setting, missing vocals... to name a few
Super frustrating and distracting for worship..
Also, the florescent lights in the cafeteria are terrible for a worship atmosphere

The Upside...
It was great having students involved in worship.. I'd love to do that more and more!
When there was no popping or screeching, the peeps were engaged ..
I was able to talk and play guitar at the same time better than usual..and keep my eyes out of the music stand too....
When there were not popping or screeching sounds, the people responded well to worship..

Check out what went down in other churches at Fred's site!

Sunday, July 25 - Edinboro site

Scary day for me...
This was the first weekend I led the band with guitar in the big venue at our church...The larger crowd and more professional atmosphere really put the pressure on.

Here's the rundown..
Blessed Be (Key of A)
Better is One Day (Key of E)
You Are God Alone( Key of Ab)

Announcements/Offering

I Stand Amazed/How Marvelous (Key of G)
At the Cross (Key of E)

Message on fear

Father Will You Come (Key of G)

Here's the dirty.
1. A new huge screen right behind/above me...If I didn't already feel like people were staring...
2. Hello technical problems... cracking guitar, buzzing, fading in and out...fiddle, repeat.. ugh!. thankfully this just happened on Sat. night.
3. On Saturday evening I wanted to crawl under the stage I was so disappointed/embarrassed/frustrated.
4. I feel like I'm too much in the music and it hurts my connection with the worshipers.

Here's the diggety!
1. Awesome engagement from the people on the Sun am. services.. especially the 9am. which was so surprisingly refreshing!
2. What an amazing team to work with! Gracious, talented, encouraging...
3. It's supremely satisfying to have another guitar milestone behind me.
4. For so long, I was afraid to try to learn guitar because I thought I would fail.. I 'm grateful that I finally gave God a change to work through my life this way
5. God is faithful!

Sunday, July 19th Union City and Church in a Bar

This week I took one team of four to two different multi-sites.
We had myself AG/vocals
Ryan AG/vocals
Rob/violin
Ron/Aux. percussion
I was super glad they all agreed to both sites, it made the day much smoother than with two different teams and set-lists! Plus, we all gelled together well!

Here's the listy-list...
Sing to the King (Key of E)
You Are God Alone (Key of Ab)
Healer (Key of Bb)
Announcements/Message
Lead Me to the Cross (Key of D)
I Stand Amazed (Key of G)

In the morning we were at the UC site. That service has moved from High School Cafeteria back into the auditorium. It's a nice change..I think! Corey was there to set up and run sound, and he basically rocks. A WL friend who had not heard me play in a while commented on how far I had come on guitar, but also said I was in the music way too much and that takes away from my personality.

The crowd was small but the service went well and we were practiced up for the evening service in the city at Church in a Bar.
At CIAB the place was packed...standing room only. The peeps were singing along so loudly I couldn't hear anything out of my monitor. It was awesome! It's exciting to see what God is doing in the city and humbling to be a part of it.

This blog is part of a worship blogging community over at Fred's site...check out some other services around the globe here.

Who is Grace - Sunday, July 5th

Why am I blogging my worship orders.... Fred made me do it!
Check out all the other worship order bloggers at Fred's.

After taking one week to breathe and one week to travel to Alaska, it was good to be leading worship again this weekend.
This week I was at at Brian Lusky's church filling in while he was on a European vacation.
Here's the run-down...

Hosanna- Brooke Fraser (Key of E)
Welcome/Announcements
Marvelous Light- Christy Nockels version (Key of G)
How He Loves- Kim Walker Version (Key of G)
Lead me to the Cross- Brooke Fraser (Key of D)
Sermon
Enough- Part Barlow Girl, part Tomlin version (Key of E)

The dirty,
I came to practice straight from a conference in Pittsburgh so I didn't feel as prepared as usual.
I was asked to cut a song earlier in the week and it was re-added when I arrived so I was most def. not prepared to lead that particular song.

The diggety,
The team was three peeps I worked with last time I led at this venue, and three new peeps for me, all very talented all with a great attitude. Seriously great people!
The rehearsal and both services went off smoothly I think...
Engagement from the congregation seemed relatively high (in the second service anyhow)

By the way, this was the first time I used "Lead me to the Cross" and it will not be the last! Lovin' it! (Not sure what to think about the 'to your heart' bridge though.....)

Sunday, June 7th- Church in a Bar

We had a team of three last night at CIAB.
Ry and I on Taylor and vox, and a new vocalist/old friend Cathi on vox as well.

Here's the run-down.

Beautiful One (Tim Hughes, key of D)
Hosanna (Brooke Frasier, key of E)
Come Thou Fount (key of E)

Message/announcements

Healer (Mike Guglielmucci, key of Bb)..(yes, I know, I still use it)
At the Cross (HIllsong, key of E)
Your Are God Alone (Foote, key of Ab)

The Dirty:
I didn't have the chords written in for verse 2 and 3 of "Come Thou Fount." I also was not familiar enough with the words of verse two....muddle, muddle, muddle.

We seriously need to upgrade our easyworship/powerpoint slides..we need a better, more creative, and yet more controlled way of making sure what's up there adds to the message. (uggh!)

In general, I am in the music too much and need to memorize more so I can worship more freely.

The Diggety:
It was awesome sauce to lead with Ryan! Since we've been singing together for so long, the harmonies come so naturally. (hopefully the rhythms will come just as naturally soon) It was also sweet to have Cathi up on stage for the first time I've known her since middle school, so It felt like all family!

Lots of participation!

I got a lot of comments about how meaningful "At the Cross" was in worship last night. It's always great to see what songs connect most with people.

It looks like I may have a few weeks off from worship leading, since I'm heading to Alaska!! It will be refreshing to have a break and come back freshity-fresh.

Take a look at what other churches are up to at Fred's Blog!

Church in a Bar 5-31-09

Here's the rundown

Came to My Rescue (Hillsong United- Key of A)
Forever (Tomlin- Key of E)
At the Cross (Hillsong- Key of E)
I Stand Amazed (Tomlin- Key of G)

Message

How He Loves (Kim Walker version- Key of G)
Let the Praises Ring (Brewster- Key of E)

Here's the downlow

The band was loud.
I could play guitar as loud as I wanted and noone could tell if I messed up. You can look at that as a positive and as a negative...hmm. (If I close my eyes, I can still hear the cymbals)

We had bass, drums, electric and acoustic guitar!! It's great for me to play with a full band. (It almost makes me feel like a real musician!)

People especially connected with How He Loves and I Stand Amazed. Back to an acoustic feel for next week and we'll see how it goes....

You should check out what's shakin' at other worship services here at Fred's!
